Hi there, I'm new to this forum. I have a hopefully simple question for all you experts out there!
I have a 2002 Mk2 Punto 8v, it has a standard blaupunkt stereo wiva little sub and six speakers. It turns on and off with the button, I don't have the maunal so I don't know whether you can get it to go off with the ignition or not?
If not I would be grateful if someone could post which wires to change/move to get it to do this, and if I do will I then not be able to operate it with the button when I want?
Cheers guys.

There are about 30 posts with such a question in you just look down a little through the posts you will find one.

I purposely didn't connect it up when I redid my audio - much better to have it on without the engine IMO.

My first signiture (a lot of thought put into it): If you can't find the switch to switch your fogs off I am sure I can help you! Damn fogs.

Thanks for your reply mate but I've just spent ages looking for an answer and found similar stuff but not quite the same - I'm asking mainly does my punto already have this feature?

I reckon it's best to have it come on and off with the ignition but you need to be able to turn it on still with the engine off.

my sei dont have 1, perhaps its a fiat thing.

ur looking 4 the remote wire.

its blue

if u have that in ur loom 4 the HU and its connected 2 summat then, the next 1 wud b the 12V switched supply wire.

if u dont have one of these ur HU wont come on wid ur ignition, and ull hav to route ur own. more hassle and when u can jus press a button, who cares.

i hav to take my facia off when i get out the car so i just pull that off and the HU switches off anyway, putting the facial back on switches the HU back on simple

Thanks, blue wire then eh I'll experiment with it, maybe buy some fuses first!

I'm happy with the Fiat radio, which noone will want to nick cos it only fits in Puntos. Cheers.

you could always take a wire form the cig lighter for the radio

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, what do you want? cupholders? open door warning light? grow up!

To answer if its a Fiat thing, it is for definete. Had a big list of fiats and they all require the stereo to be turned off manualy (except for the stilo standard unit, mycar can let you choose what it does)

I like the stereo (and little else) in the Renault Kangoo, you can switch the radio on without the key and if the van is switched on and off again, the radio stays on. useful eg. if you've got a passenger who stays in the van while you regularly unload stuff. if the radio is switched on while engine is running it switches off as normal when engine is turned off. nice!
