A guide on how to sound proof your Sei/Cinq would be a good idea, I've sound proofed mine already, but would be very interested to see how someone else did their's, to see if there are any bits I've missed.

I look forward to seeing you work in progress pics.

Hope they are up soon

Brian

Ask any racer, any real racer, it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning!

DAY ONE

I prepped the car so nothing got in the way and i didnt do damage to the car, cloths pegs are very good to hold things out the way

This is how far I got with it today, im still not happy with it so it might be another re-design tomorrow

I may have the amps on one side and the sub on the other, but I dont know yet I will see what mood im in tomorrow, I wish I never started it now but I will have to finish it, I suppose.

I've also been having lots of trouble with my MDF rear quarts, I may just leave them as standard and find somewhere else to put the speakers, im also finding it difficult to get the speakers to fit in the front doors, I have decided to keep with the standard panels but am going to strengthen them and also will have to build them out by a few inches.

Hopefully it will be all done by tomorrow, but I doubt it cause its a pain in the arse to do[:(!]

Yes, it wound be immediate... When I did my install, I spent several days measuring and cutting before actually puttng the boxes in the car, taking them out, covering them and installing the goodies!

GrpN Catback Exhaust system is here...just need to get the bleeder on now!!

the false floor is quite easy to do, if you can drill into your car.

I have got more pics today of my progress, it is all in now, bit of a change from yesterday but I had a change of ideas again[:(!]

Im still waiting on my carpet, hopefully that will come tomorrow, ive also got to do the wiring but i need the carpet down first before i can do that

oops... should of made it more clear no a shelf for the little amp to sit on instead of screwing it into the back of the seat, but i failed miserably with it.

I have made myself a perspex window in my parcel shelf so people can see it at shows and stuff, this will be filled back up with the bit I cut out of it when Im travelling around and want it out of view, Ive also taking out seperate insurance for my ICE, so hoepfully I will be covered in all directions.

Ghost - Amp was from bass-junkies.com, JBL GTO 6000 - Be quick its on offer £100 and its a JBL GT3 10" sub, I think they have stopped making this amp but im not sure have a look around. Give yourself a budget of about £200 and thats what u should be able to get

what kind of sound proofing material are you using m8?

did you make the sub box yourself, if so did you use a router to get the slanted egdes to line up?

Non-Flammable Is Not A Challenge

i used cheapo roofers underlay £26 for 8m, its not recommended to use by some people but i have found that it blocks enough sound for me.

If you want to buy the proper stuff then it is quite expensive, but if u got the money u mite aswell do it properly

I didnt make the sub box myself i brought it ages ago for £30, it comes with a slanted back, most sub boxes do as most car rear seats slant

Lookin good Gaz, that felt anygood? Is it called Marley Tape by any chance? I was looking round my local B&Q other day looking to see how much that felt is, looks quite thick and looks like it would do the job probably better than flashing tape.

Keep it up, you'll be well proud when you first mash it up and get your neighbours complaining (I know I did :D)

DAY FOUR

Sando - im not sure what it is called, I got it from wickes (own brand), they only do the underlay that I have got on my car now, but they also so the top layer aswell but that is slightly thinner.

Back to the install, after a little break of a few days I decided to go back to it.

I have retrimmed my rear quarts and they now have the speakers fitted:
drivequart.jpg

passquart.jpg

I also did the front door cards aswell, but because they speakers that are going in there are 6.5", i have had to bring them out by 2":

I am gonna fibre glass these now, just to strengthen them and make them look better, then I will retrim them (if my carpet ever arrives[:(!])

I managed to get most of the wiring done today but went to crank a few of the speakers up and realised that i have blown the fuse on the power lead so will be going to get a newq one tomorrow. I also fitted an amp volume control in the front of my car so I can turn the sub up or down when its needed
