Hi, just tried that code and I'm afraid it hasn't worked - simply gone to 'wait'.. So I have re-checked the serial imprinted on the side of the radio and the one provided is correct..

Any ideas?

Thanks

Oops sorry, I typed one digit wrong into the calculator.

Your code is: 4252

The " WAIT " message should only appear if you've tried to enter the wrong code too many times. If the " WAIT " message is still showing, you'll need to leave the radio and ignition switched on for up to 2 hours or until the display shows " CODE " then " - - - - " then enter the correct code.

Radio blocked/wait

I have looked at many post on this issue but most of them are simply to request the code. I got the code but the radio never ask for it.

I bought the car recently from an elderly woman. The car had just been brought back from the garage to her for the cambelt.
I suspect the battery would have been removed or disconnected.

I have been waiting and waiting but the only message I have ever seen on that radio is "Radio blocked/wait", nothing else.
I have disconnected the radio and straight away after reconnecting the radio it says this message. It never requests the code.

Some forums says that it would give the time I should be waiting but it doesn't do that. Never seen the message cancheck either.

The radio is a radio/cd Blaupunkt in a Fiat Panda.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for donating to the forum.

The correct code for your radio is: 5631

The display says " WAIT " because someone has entered the wrong code too many times. You need to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously for up to 2 hours or until the display says " WAIT " then "- - - - ". Then enter the correct code.

I'm no expert..

'WAIT' is usually displayed if the code has been entered wrongly too many times. (Not sure about battery being disconnected.)

It can display 'WAIT' for anything up to 2 hours as far as I know, leave the ignition on unit the 'WAIT' disappears and shows '----' then enter the code.

If your not sure if you have the right code put a donation in and post numbers in this thread.

Davren, Thank you. you are the man! the code worked and so does my cd radio. My wife and daughter are very happy, it’s my wife’s car and both her and my daughter like to listen to music while in the car. So once again Thanks very much.

No.. Sorry. CN and CN+ codes are not calculatable. They are held on databases by Fiat and Magneti Marelli. You can get the code from a Fiat dealer if you know the registration number of the car the CN was originaly fitted to. This often doesn't work because a lot of CNs were replaced under warrenty and dealers didn't notify ISR of the change. You would also need to know the history of the car to know whether it was original fitment.

Another way is to send a photograph of the barcode on the paper label on top of the CN to Fiat or Magneti Marelli (depending on whether it's a new or reconditioned CN) via a Fiat dealer. Most Fiat dealers don't realise they can or don't want to do this though.

Last an most expensive method is to send the CN to Magneti Marelli in Italy to be re-coded. Last time I enquired about this, I received an e-mail from MM saying it would be a minimum charge of €180 (EUR) including return postage.
