Hi,
I Have an Oct 1998 Marea Weekend TD100 ELX.
I have purchased a Kenwood KDC-W4527G as a replacement to the std AD185H model (that was basically shot). One of the reasond I purchased this model was that it can accept input from a remote control source.
I also purchased the Autoloeads PC9-705 connector to allow the steering wheel controls to be used with the stereo.
When I came to connect the stereo up I noticed that there is the 2 ISO fittings (1 for power, and 1 for the speakers) + a 3rd fitting.
The Autoloeads connection takes the 3 std wires from the 'power' ISO conection (permanent live, switched live, & earth correctly) but also requires connection to four other pins that the car doesn't use, which means that the steering controls do not control the unit.
Are any of you guys aware of these leads, and do they actually work. If not is there a way around this so that the 3rd block (which I assume is the steering control) can be used with the stereo.
Also, the unit was supplied with a cage, which apparently is fixed some how behind the dash. How is this cage fitted, as there seems an awful lot of extra space behind the dash, and I could see no mounting points?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
