12" RE XXX sub, capable of 2000w RMS, DVC, going to powered by a spl dynamics ext 2000 amp producing 2000w RMS. Going in a custom 2.5 cu ft ported box tuned to 35 hz. The magnet is f*****g huge in this sub and the rubber surround is SO thick, gonna produce some ear popping bass i hope!;







Going to start sound deadening this week using a single layer of dynamat extreme, will put up progress pics as i go along.

i tell you now you have picked the right amp to power that beast

also you know that that amp will only put in 1000rms cuz of the sub being 2ohm

It will show 1 ohm, as the dvc are 2 ohm, so 1 ohm going ti each i think, so wil be 1000w rms to each vc. I might be wrong though.

amp i was using was 1500rms at 1ohm i think

Looking at the 16.5 v stats it says 3000w into 1 ohm, how is this increased voltage acheived, is a line driver used for this (just sold mine, doh!), if so might be worthwile getting another one!

SPL Dynamics and SPLX are worlds apart Beau

You cant say anything after seeing some of your purchases beau! This is not a cheap splx amp, a rare spl dynamics amp, getting the box designed by a bloke called EF MAX off the talkaudio forum, and getting another lad to build it for me.

Not when you have to stop to fuel your cars petrol habit And what torque would that be?

Having a XXX i found made me more sensible, as in the knowledge that i had one of the better makes of sub on the market and tended not to have it blasting out, but not scared to put a few systems to shame good investment
