i have just brought a JBL GT4-12" sub and a JBL GTO 2000 amp.
the problem ive got is how do i run the power to the amp.

ive heard that its the hardes part getting the power cable form the battery to the boot to the amp.

does any one have any advice on how do it. i have a Punto sporting R-reg.

dont know punto's but the tricky bit is getting through the engine bulkhead so either use an existing entry point or drill and grommet a new one and then its just removing trim all the way to the boot, make sure its a fused supply from the battery keeping the speaker cables well away from the power cable

There will always be an exsisting grommet somewhere, its just finding one! Just cut a slit in an exsisting one and feed it through. Unless your using 0awg it shouldnt be a problem.

I done see why people have such trouble in finding a grommet?? :D

yer ill justa have to take the time and find it.

im getting the basic wiring kit with the sub and amp. are they simple enough to install. there isnt anything percific i have to do when putting on the power cable.??

alrite m8, i bought a 12" Alpine SWR-1241 sub and a Rockford Amp and also wondered how the hell im gona wire it up!! in the footwell of both the driver and passenger side, underneath the carpet quite high up on the outer side are rubber bungs. i threaded the wire through this, down th wing of the car and into the engine bay. i ran it underneath the plastic kick plates the run along the bottom of the door, under the rear quarter panel into the boot. hope this helps..

Just make sure you power cable and remote wire run on opposite sides of the car to your RCA's or you may get inteference. Your speaker cables dont matter as they dont carry current.
