“Although I have always gone for Alpine in the past, I think I can safely say that a move in audio manufacturers was well worth it. Having had my Alpine 9833R for a year or so, I decided that a change was well overdue. Having researched some of the new headunits around on numerous websites, I asked Mark at Purecarsound for prices of headunits that wouldn’t have normally jumped out at me. Not having ventured away from Alpine in the past, Mark suggested I move to Kenwood and I haven’t regretted it.

The Kenwood KDC-W6534U is a superb headunit and although it might not be the most graphical and exciting headunit on the market, it offers some excellent features. Attached to mine I have the IP500 I-Pod Interface kit and Steering wheel controls which makes the unit so much easier to use while driving. I love the sound quality with the built in 24-bit DAC, complemented by my components all round. It also has a USB input to which i have a 60GB hard drive attached, not something I would have found on other headunits.

After having some experience with the Alpine 9855R, I would recommend anyone to try out Kenwood headunits for their features. In my opinion, this is the best unit I have had to date and I can’t wait to get my install completed.”
