Bought them this morning! Tried to install just now and no luck..........nothing.

Here's how I done it................

Wired the existing positive and negative wire from the old standard speakers into the 'IN' connections of the cross-over box making sure positive to positive and negative to negative.

Then wired the main woofer speaker from the cross over box connections marked 'W' for woofer again making sure positive to positive and negative to negative.

Finally wired the tweeters in same as speakers except to the connections marked 'T' for tweeter again positive to positive and negative to negative.

Turned on head unit.............nothing. All the remaining speakers in the car work that I haven't changed yet but the new one...........nowt!!!!!!!!!!

Am I missing something

I ain't going installing the other 3 (passenger side and two rear) until I know I got it right??

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

PS this is the head-unit I have......................

Thanks for the reply

I have.

I even tried simply wiring the woofer speaker directly to the original two wires and nothing. Though when I wire the tweeter directly to the original two wires that works fine.

It's driving me mad :)

Right conclusion number 2 :D

Everything works fine when wired up except for the woofer speakers.

I wired up the entire set-up on the front drivers side. When connected and turned on the tweeter works fine through the cross over box.

STILL NOTHING FROM THE WOOFER SPEAKER THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Could it maybe be a setting on my head-unit or something that's filtering out the sound to the woofer speaker??

It's beaten me lol:(

Which means???

Problem is I bought two sets (4 speakers) and none of them work. SO is it likely that I was unlucky enough to buy 2 sets of speakers where neither of the 4 woofers work???

I think it's something elese regarding how I've set it all up or how my head-unit is set up but it's baffling me :(

Problem is if they are duff there's no taking them back as I had to remove two of the fixing tabs to be able to slot them in to place to try them out.(n) (n)

Greta eh????? :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Yup me too :D But it ain't happening :bang:

Do you think possably because my head-unit fires out about 27W RMS and these are rated at 55W RMS that they simply aren't receiving enough power to get them kick out some sound??

I am determined to solve this as it's gonna have cost me £110 for nowt and as I said I had to snap off two of the fixing tabs so the shop won't take them back.

Just my luck. Buy 2 sets of decent speakers and both of the sets look like they don't work:cry:

I'll go back to my standard's.............Much less hassle than all this!!

Thanks Custard Boy though for the help

**********UPDATE**********************

Right I have finally got one set up and working (sounds great :D )

Don't ask how I got it working but I did.

I would assume that the other set are duff now. As even when I hook the speakers up to my Hi-Fi in the house there's still nothing from them!!

I'll give it a try tomorrow by taking the other set back and see if the shop will take them back!! I'll put on my argiest face I can  lol

Thanks for all the help peeps!!! Got 1/2 there in the end.

Will let you know what happens with the duffers ASAP!!

The shop took them back (y) (see post #11 as to why they might not have :p ) and replaced them with another set!

Got them installed and now got eveything working!!!!!!

Thanks too all (y)
