Expensive for a 10" setup, I bought a Sony amp, Pioneer sub and box all for £130 and that was 2 years ago! Sony make decent amps but their subs aren't up to much. Try www.mcs-direct.co.uk, there's a Lightning Audio 12" package for £149 or a Rockford Fosgate 12" package for £199 (both in the special offers bit). www.cel-direct.com and www.caraudiocentre.com are also worth a look.

Avoid Sony subs. Mate has a 10" Sony Xplod one and it kicks hard, but no depth from the bass at all. Better to get something else. Just my personal opinion

Sony Xplop....pah! Wouldnt bother with Sony at all...much better out in the market for less money.

£172 for a sony sub and amp? *sniff* *sniff* I smell a rip off.

I can agree with the Sony XPlod opinion. Got a 10 Pentagonal one and its w**k. Even with the bass very carefuly set up....

If you wantlots of boom, I reckon Donz is right: SPLX could be the way forward. They also make very cheap but meaty amps, Motorworld flog 'em. If you get a 12" sub, I've got a black ported sub box with terminals, in good nick that I'll sell (I decided to make a custom so it's been sat in me room for ages!).
