Just recently been given my mums Fiat Brava, with my test coming up next week.

But basically the point of this thread is, the car currently has a radio/cassette player and I was wondering if it is possible to remove that and install a cd player insted?

And if that is possible how and what do I need to do it?

Any accessories or can I use any cd player I can buy/afford etc....?

Thanks for your time.:)

Thanks for your help, is there any guides on how to remove the Cassette/radio player?

And install the cd player, preferably with Pictures or diagrams?

Thanks again.

You should have 4 holes on the front of the CD player. Use a pair of removal tools, insert in the holes, pull HU out disconnect wiring. Fit fascia adapter and new HU cage. Plug ISO connector on the Fiat wiring, plug ISO connector into new HU, plug in aerial, slot HU in, being careful not to trap any wires. Job done :)

Note - disconnect the battery negative before starting work :)

Really sorry to probably sound dumb, but could you possibly make that any simpler including what the abbreviations mean?

Sorry about his.

HU = head unit.basically the CD player as its the head of the sound system
ISO = a standard for car stereo wiring.nothing to worry about really.
get the parts ive listed and a new head unit then it will be clearer.
also best to post op the head unit(cd player)you plan to buy for opinions and whether we can get a better price :)

Its OK :) When you get your head unit and ISO adapter, hopefully it'll be much clearer :)

Would that CD player be compatible, and/or even a good buy?

Thanks, stuart.

its compatible but TBH catologues generally sell older models for more money.
give it to this evening and other forum menbers and myself will have a look around at HU's/changers in your price bracket

Yeah, it'd be compatible, but I'm pretty sure you can do better for the money :)

Thanks for the advice are there any websites, shops or anywhere else you could recommend?

What should I be looking for in a quality Hu as it is referred too, any sort of minimum specs.?

Thats me now got the Brava Facsia unit and the ISO adaptor today after ordeering them from autoaudioaccessories.com so with the HU(CD player arriving tomorrow, I was hoping you could clear up the matter of how to now install and get the cd player successfully working?

Thanks again, Stuart.

Wait until you get the HU - you'll see how easy it is to connect :)
