What are you opinions on the design?
Is Xplod ICE any good? Those subs are rated 1200w each.

Theres not a lot of space inside as you all know. The parcel shelf will be made in something more solid with my 6x9s raised to face into the car.

The blank box shapes on either side are the boxes i made to cover the arches to create a oblong box shaped area inside the boot.

Looks cool. But why Sony XPlod? Theres much better on the market for the same price.

Have you any speakers up front? Have you thought of just running a sub powered by an amp and a pair of 10cm components running from the head unit? That would sound much better.

Being so small, the Sei and Cinq dont need rear fill, I've just upgraded mine and before I was running 2 pairs of co-axials, 1 pair in the front and a pair in the rear quarters. Both powered by the HU. There really was no need for rear fill, didnt make a difference whether it was faded all the way to front or not. I have now got a pair of components in the front powered by an amp and a 12" sub in the boot powered by an amp, the sound is amazing.

6x9's will interfere with the sound from the sub too. Not so much as if you'd had them running on the parcel shelf, but there isnt any need for them in the boot.

I'd prefere not to spend over 200 on it. I put P5's into the setup because they are going for 50 quid each @ my local halfrauds.

At the moment I have an SPLX sub and amp, which is good but I'd like to match up all my ice.... The amp is scratched like hell anyway, so i'd like to replace it.

i dunno if i can afford those, and i dont want bass that will deafen me for hours atfer. Audiobahn subs are good, arent they? and they look good too.

JBL subs are going cheap at motorworld at the mo. 12" for £50 (1800watt max) and 10" for a mere £30 (1600watt max).

Also, get yourself a set of JBL components (currently 50 notes also at motorworld) instead of the 6x9's. A lot better quality

If that aint value, I dunno what is!

If i were to purchase 2 sets of components, could i install them into the rear panels (like a few on here have done with 6x9s)?

it is a good sub, i had got one in my sei, very punchy an bassy.

dont listen to higher figures quoted on boxes these are often beefed up, you want the RMS output (i think), this is the realistic figure that the speaker will achieve

Seicento Sporting,
Modified Front Bumper,
GT Wing Roof Spoiler - NOW STOLEN,
Abarth Side Skirts,
4" Powerflow Exhaust System,
Standard Alloys...oops.
WANTED:Nice set of 14" or 15" Alloy Wheels PM Me With Any Info

I dont really want the bass to be overpowering, so i might buy one and the components. Should I get the amp to match the sub?

Agreed, but i dint know the RMS off the top of my head :)

I think its around 250rms for the 10" subs. I bought two recently.

As for the components AiR, I'd stick them up front. You want the punchy bass behind you but the sound stage at the front. The quality will be far superior with the woofers in the front doors and the tweeters on the dash :D

This amp looks better

are these the ones you were refering too? And by front doors, do you mean inside those 'dents' in the dash positions?

No idea what you mean with doors n dents as I dont own a sei. I'm sure someone with a sei can give you more advice. My woofers replaced the standard ones that were in my car and I placed my tweeters in the door arm rest as below

and here's my subs and crossovers in the boot

They are part of the component set. Basically they direct the frequencies to the 2 speakers. i.e High frequencies to your little tweeters and mid a nd low frequencies to your woofer. Therefore you dont get treble being sent to your woofer which is for bass and bass being sent to your tweeter which is for treble :D

Mounted in the boot basically for show. I have used twice as much cable doing it this way.

Yes they are connected to my amp as it is a 4 channel amp but I then have 2 sets of wire from each xover to the speakers upfront.

Ideally with your budget you should wire your components to your had unit and your sub to a 1/2 channel amp. 1 big sub on a bridged 2 channel amp will perform better than 2 subs.

I bought two subs many moons ago before I knew this :(

brav.gif

My current sub is running bridged off one amp. Ill wire the components to my headunit, i dont need to be a poser :D j/k

Thankyou for all the advice. Im not sure if i'll purchase them right away, but i have all the information you've given me saved. My car needs slammin before I replace my ICE.

thanks again!
