Evening all :D
Ive been talking to Chaos recently about which Ampo to get for a Kenwood KFC W300S Subwoofer [150W RMS, Peak 600W]. I couldnt really come to a decision.
My main concern is that i'll underpower an already low-ish powerd subwoofer by buying a, for example, 100-oddRMS rated Amp.
Id rather get an Amp which had about 200W RMS.

Ive been looking at this: JBL GTO-301.1 AmpReckon it'll be any good, or shall i just shut up and go for a cheaper amp which has about about 100W RMS?
Thing is - how loud does 100W of bass from a sub sound? If its 'Corrr thats good!' then i'll get a 'lesser' amp than the JBL above.

That amp is ideal to run you sub, start off with a low gain and work your way up. It will be useful should you choose an upgraded sub later. Look around though on price as that seems high. e-bay throws a few up now and again.

100 watts RMS or max isn't going to tickle that sub.

That Amp seems ideal then. Bit pricey though. They're on ebay for £100-new, including P&P.
Ive been looking for sililary powerd amps like that JBL, though i cant find any [especailly for a lower price...as im on a budget really]. Ball park figure of about £80 - £100 MAX.

Any suggestions

Including shipping [£10] it comes to £81. Thats still £20 cheaper than anywhere else!

Like Bozzy said, that JBL amp will be fine..................you just need to take a little care with the gain first of all (y)

You may still get that amp cheaper still on the second hand market :)

Indeed :)
Just need to wait for xmas to be over, and for my student loan to come through hehehe. Seccond hand would be good, though ive trolled ebay and come up with nothing.
This price seems resonable though...but will have to see if i can get in even more cheaper (y)

Not a problem (y)

Indeed, i have thought of that, though im a litte unsure about the quality of some of the 2nd hand Amps on ebay. How good were yours?
Also, the Sub only has 150W RMS so unless i plan to upgrade in the future then getting a hardcore Amp would be unnecessary.

Of course, there is always a risk with buying off eBay. Generally, you should be OK. It may be worth checking out the exchange here. :)
