Newbie here with something that may be very easy, but I have no clue about.

I want to change the standard cd/radio in my 10 reg Panda for something better but have no idea what's involved. My lack of knowledge starts with how to get the old radio out (I reckon the small hole in each corner of the unit has something to do with it), ranging to if I'll need a connector adaptor, what power the new system should be, the whole kit and caboodle. Any assistance would be invaluable!

Welcome to the forum :)

You're right about the holes, you'll need some radio removal 'keys' to get the unit out using these holes - something like these.
Once you've got it out, you need 3 or 4 things:
  • Fascia adaptor
  • Wiring adaptor
  • New aftermarket stereo
  • Radio antenna adaptor (depending on which stereo you get, and whether you actually listen to the radio!)

You can get either a single or double DIN fascia adaptor for this vintage of Panda, and which you get will depend on whether you want to fit a single or double DIN aftermarket stereo.
Single DIN are the most common, but double DIN usually have more features and are much better for things like touchscreens due to the extra size. I personally like a mechless (no CD player) single DIN with USB, AUX and Bluetooth.

Cheers Eklipze3k, I've found a cd/radio with Bluetooth by JVC, as a full adaptor kit from Dynamic Sounds. This should give me a project!

The kit contains a new fascia, radio removal keys, wiring adaptor and aerial adaptor.

Ok, getting the money to finally get round to this in a couple of weeks. The new stereo I'm getting (Pioneer DEH-S420BT) is 50W x 4, would I need to look into changing the standard speakers, or are they ok?

Hi :)

People who know:worry say the speakers are of lower end quality..

But I assume you use them now.. ;)
Choice is yours.. you are unlikely to 'blow them up..'

The top picture is the back of the radio I'm getting, the middle picture shows the wiring harness that came with the adaptor kit from Dynamic Sounds. Am I correct in thinking I'm going to have to get the wiring harness in the bottom picture to marry the two together?
