Can anyone help?

I have a 1996 punto S, and recently had my radio stolen, a side effect of this being that the connector was cut off & taken with the radio.

I have a new connector, but the colour coded wires are coded differently to those in the car. I don't have the manual, and therefore have no idea which wire = which speaker etc.

Does anyone know which wire does what?

Right, this is copied from the Haynes manual, so it's probably wrong anyway and doesn't say which speaker connection is pos or neg, so you'd have to take the speakers out to check - but here goes :

COLOURS ARE (probably) EXISTING WIRES STICKING OUT OF CAR:

2x red - live from fuse 10 for power and memory
yellow/black - from sidelights for illumination
black/violet and grey - from steering column radio controls, if fitted
black - earth
light blue/red and l.blue/yellow - right rear speaker
orange/black and orange/white - left rear speaker
pink/black and black/violet - r-front and r-front door spkrs
red/black and white/black - l-front and l-front door spkrs

Hope this is of some help.

Pete.

Brilliant.

Thanks Pete. You wouldn't belive how hard it was to get that information for free!

I recently got a 75SX, the radio had been removed an a horribly crappy thing put in to fill the hole. The connector in the car has been cut off and the wire joined by twisting and sticky tape - yuch.[:(!]
Where can I get a new connector from? are they available from the dealer or do I need to go to a specialist shop or is it a scrappie job?
