Just updated my OEM multipla system on a 2003 roundnose.
I took a few photos as I progressed on whatsapp to show my friend as I worked. Stumbled upon these today, and thought I would share them with anyone interested.
Firstly,
I found the standard headunit a bit limiting and the sound not that great. It lacked any bass, midrange was flat, but I could make out any voices and highs easily. A lot of the time, road noise drowned out the sound.
So after researching what I wanted and the sizes on the forums. I decided to buy my bits.
First off, some FIAT connectors from eBay. Plugs straight into the OEM connectors and then the spade connectors go onto the new speakers.

Then I purchased some 6.5" speakers for the front.

and some 5x7 rear speakers.

The Fronts were easy enough to fit. I simply removed the speaker grill with a wide flat screwdriver. Prised straight off. Then it was an easy four screws to remove the OEM speaker. I then fitted the spade connectors to the speaker, connected it and installed it using the existing 4 screws.
The rears were a little more tricky. Pop out the two screw covers. Then unscrew the 4 screws to remove the lower door pocket. Then remove the speakers by removing another 4 screws. Attached spades to new speakers and fit using the connector and existing screws.
All covers popped back on with no issues.
