I know this isn't your normal question about Amps, Subs or anything else but it's something that is puzzling me.

I recently changed the factory stereo in my 2007 Fiat Panda for a JVC stereo (changing to a Bluetooth Alpine model at Christmas). I brought all the adapters I needed, one of them was a adapter for the aerial to convert it from a DIN to and ISO fitting. Everything seems ok, the FM reception is superb but AM/MW reception is non existent. Just a load of engine noise.

Any ideas?

Dave.

Well I seem to have answered my own question thanks to the power of Google.

When I change (or maybe before) the stereo I'm going to ground the body directly to the car chassis, run though this PDF guide to check the cable condition and finally I have ordered up a Autoleads PC5-90 adapter that provides Phantom Power to an aerial amplifier as per this thread (I have ordered the ISO to DIN version, saves having a separate adapter).

I will report back with the results.

Dave.
