so after much hard thought and price comparing i cant get a better deal than the jbl 601.1 for £130 although it is 20rms lower than what i need (600rms). just woundered what people though of jbl amps, past experiances ect.
cheers (y)

Dunno about their amps, but if they are of the same quality as their subs, then they're all good (y)

for the price then i think they the best you can get

i have had the 4 channel gto 4000 and the 6 channel gto 6000 and both have been un beatable

im not sure what there new range of amps are like, but if they anything like there previous ones then you onto a winner

I have 2 GTO4000 amps (600w) and i can't fault them. Got a GTO 10" sub too which is amazing considering it only cost me like 35quid i think :p

What they said!

For the money they are superb. Not quite top notch but you are not paying anywhere near top notch. I have a full JBL set up in mine. 2 10" subs, 6x9's and components all powered by 6channel JBL GTO 6000.

Not superb but bloody great for the money

You will find that an amp makes a HUGE difference to sound quality as they are far superior than your head units internal amp.

Thats why some less powerful amps are more expensive. The more expensive you go the more quality you will get (in most cases). Subs quality isnt that desperate as you can get away with a little quality in the lower frequencies. An SPLx amp powering front components or 6x9's you will notice the P poor quality straight away compared to other more expensive amps

How about the Kicker KX550.3 (seen it for £299.99) 3 channel amp?

2 x 45 (Class A/B) for the front pair and 200/400 4/2 ohm (Class D) for the sub channel.

Will weigh a metric tonne and being Kicker, push out far more than it's rated at whilst the different class sub channel will save on power :D . It's a win win situation!

What equipment have you got already?

i have a solo barics 12". kicker 6x9 and kicker 10cm

thanks for the idea but im a student. £300 is a bit excessive for me hard times and all that you know.ive found the amp even cheaper now £115 :p its the closest to 600rms for under £130 and might even splash out on a power cap. so im guessing the feedback is all good will go get it on thurs i think or order it. speak now or forever hold your peace :D

OK... my boss deals with all the JBL GTO stuff we get through for repairs at work and they are gorgeous amps, but they are absolute SODS when they go wrong... but for that price I wouldn't argue... (y)

When it comes to sound kit JBL are great full stop... their professional lines are good too! :D
