I want to connect my Galaxy S2 to the Marea's OEM head unit via the CD changer aux port.

I could just make and fit a 3.5 jack to blue mini-iso, but have also been offered an Alfa ipod cable as per the photo. If I bought a mini-din to 3.5mm jack cable, would this work?

Ideas and opinions please?

Well.. this don't work.

Plugged it in and the radio kept coming on then going off like it was in a boot cycle. Seems something doesn't agree with the cd-changer emulator.

So I have the cable and 3.5mm jack - still waiting on delivery of my blue plug pins.

I've got 4 core cable with a screen (this one) but wondering what is the best way to use it. Perhaps there is a better cable to use?

I was thinking use red & white for signal and yellow & white combined as ground... and somehow ground the shield to the head unit? This should provide better screening than using red & white for signal and the shield as audio ground.

Suggestions please?

Wire made.

The head unit end is fine. Made it with 100ohm resistors between the signals and ground as I'm using a headphone socket, and 100ohm between the CD changer signal bus and ground. Works perfectly except the cable being twin shielded doesn't really fit the 3.5mm jack.

Version 2 will fit the cable to 2x phono sockets which I will install somewhere reasonably hidden. Then I can fit a pre-manufactured 3.5mm jack to dual phono lead whenever I want to use the aux input. Just need to find somewhere I can drill through, and still get behind to fit the cables.
