does anyone know if you can fit 6 x 9's in the front doors of a fiat brava (1995 1.6sx) or any brava / bravo as i think they're the same. i think i've seen a pic of someone who's done it. im guessin you need a fitting kit. anyy suggestions, can it be done or not? help x

Anything's possible Brad! You should be able to fit them (but I ain't got a Brava/Bravo, only a Cinq) but you would need bespoke door cards. You'd have to have a measure, check that a 6x9 would fit and also check the depth of the speaker. I don't think there should be a problem, but it's best to be safe and not sorry!
Am I right in assuming that there are already speakers in the doors? If there are, you would have to run OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) cable through the holes already drilled for the existing wiring.

You dont HAVE to but its pointless not to. . If you dont think it is deep enough then think again, coz blaupunkt do some very nice shallow 6x9's that Aaron has i think and have thin magnets. You can put them pretty much anywhere, just chech that there is a wide enough gap, meaning no door struts...

I always use OFC cable - I see at as "what's the point in having expensive speakers only to use rubbish wire?"
I don't like 6x9s - I'm one of those that like their speakers round! So I've never worked with them and therefore have no real mental image of a 6x9 speaker.

If you do Use OFC wiring, which as you can see every1 on here recommends. (and yes i have never used anything less myself). Get it from Richer sounds as ive said many a time. Its about half the price for twice the thickness. Gale do very good wiring at hugely discounted prices.

well the stardard speaker according to wimmy is 5 x 7 and the recess is pretty deep for them. i'm pretty sure they'll fit and the wiring is a given. ill def be doin that. just wonderin if im gonna have to bodge it myself or if there's a tidy little adaptor i could fit in the recess!!! its gonna sound phat!

You coud buy any 6x9 adapter and bodge the rest, which will get rid of most screw holes...and will let it stick out a bit.

as long as everyone is agreed that there's probebly enuf room for them.

I have most my sound behind me apart from some sony 10cm in the front. But when you turn it up really loud you cant hear where its coming from.

I have all my speakers in the front (4) with a sub in the boot. This is the best set up for acoustics. Genesis' demo VW has this set up.

Wouldnt have thought you could get much in the doors unless you built new pockets and the flooring certainly inst big enough for custom 'cant think of the name' giant pods. lol

Should have mentioned - they are all 4"!

I had a second pair in for a few days to try and and determine the best place for em, so I'm only running 2 at the mo (in standard holes), but that should change by the end of next week (along with a few other bits!). The favourite is a custom centre console, though the doors is a possbility!
