Basically im looking for a complete audio setup with this headunit
http://www.bassjunkies.com/audio/zenec-ze-nc514

Basically I just want the built in sat-nav. With the other features as a bonus. Just want to make sure all this works together. And that my Nano will work straight through this?

I also wondered if this Sub + Amp deal would work well on this headunit or even be a good purchase at all.

Thoughts on uprating the components aswell.

Help would be great, or some additional feedback or any awesome ideas or anything else I need to make this work....
Thanks :D

hi there,

the headunit in terms for what it has is good quality however not the best on the market. For something that would do everything you want to a stupidly high level expect to pay £1000 - £2000, however for something on a budget it would do :) The amp on it isnt the best and is often the case on alot of these double din headunits therefore alot of people tend to amp the speakers.

As for using you nano if is compatible and has its own softwear to do so, i believe it uses the same softwear as song do, it appears on you nano and you can then control it off your headunit going through playlists to artist etc.

The sub and amp deal is cheap and again cheerful, pleanty of bass for your money without going over the top, sony sub gets good revievs and the amp is made bu inphase, i also have this amp :)

As for the componments save a few more quid and go for something the likes of vibe or inphase. Ive herd the boss componments not identical to this in a mates punto and thought they were stock speakers :O

go for something like this, i know there a bit more but worth it :p

So overall, headunit good for price however use a seperate amp to power your componments as not only will they be underpowered but wont be loud to compete with the sub.

Go for the sub and amp deal :) but save for some quality componments and yes this could work! :p

hope it helps simo

I would advise against CAC and subsequently inphase.

£600 is a lot of money just for the fact that the Unit has sat nav, especially considering you can buy Navigation for like £50 now days.

If you bought something like this, then you will have more budget for better amps and speakers.

Then something on a budget, that will sound nice

I would really avoid packages as they arent normally the best option.

Okay, I guess I could get a separate portable sat nav, would make a lot more sense, a lot cheaper as well.

I'd perfer a HU like this ;

Or perhaps the more expensive version of that... Can't find it though.

I heard JBL do great subs and amps, so that package seems like a good one.

But packages seem like the easier option, at least then I know they will work with each other, they also save a lot of money from the RRP price?

what is it you ahve againts inphase volxstu? i find their speakers to be really good.

Inphase are Owned by Car Audio Direct. I would almost bet my left testicle that your first dealing with them was a free upgrade from CAD as something else was out of stock.

The sound that they produce isnt all that bad. Everything they offer has reliability issues. That is all before you even start to think about their underhand selling techniques of offering products that they have never had in stock and offering a "free upgrade".

only had the speakers and amp 1 month but i find them really good to deal with, never had any problems, always on time and good! however ordered some speakers from bass junkies and they did what you said, had let me orderd them even tho they wern't in stock!
