im about to build my first sub box into my spare wheel well, the sub is a

pioneer TS-W307D
Features
Maximum output power 1.200 Watt Nominal output power 400 Watt Frequency response 18 - 500 Hz Sensitivity (1W/1m) 89 dB Woofer size (cm) 30 cm Woofer material Composite IMPP™ cone using Interlaced Aramid Fibre with reinforcement arcs Voice Coil bobbin type Phenol resin coated glass cloth bobbin Pole Yoke Type Extended and Vented pole yoke Magnets Double-stacked Recommended sealed enclosure (Litres) 24 - 49,6 litres
my problem is the size of the box i need to make based on the 24 - 49 litres, can any one clear this up for me so i knw the mesurments i need for the box?

Seeing as your wheel well is round, if the box was square you would have lots of spare space either side of the box, the more sides your box has the less wasted space you have. Also the lower it can be so you can flush fit it. Ideally a cylinder box would be the best but difficult to make as you would have to bend wood.

I would go for an octagonal box myself, wastes less space but a hex box is a happy medium, see my drawing below to see what i mean:

No different to making a square box, just have to cut the bevels at a different angle on each piece to ensure a snug fit and then silicone around each join on the inside.

After figuring out the box dimensions to ensure the correct volume, making a sealed box should take no longer than a day (not including drying time and covering)

as well as the 12v site already posted, this site has some good box building advice (y)

thanks guys, just ordered a sheet of mdf today, may start on the weekend.
plan is to have the box in the wheel well, which is attached a flat sheet of mdf on the boot floor, where my amp, sub, and power cap will sit, then a raised false floor (few inches) with 3 perspex windows..all of which will be carpeted or fiberglassed and painted white to match the car....

been tryin to find a software to draw up a plan of it but no luck.

Leave gaps, at least 2" between the amp and false floor.
Then vent holes in the top of the MDF (with a router) to allow air in/out.
Push pull 12v computer fans to well... Push pull the air to keep a constant cool flow.

thanks, it seem you know your ICE... like you did with the drawing above is there a way i can draw up a digital plan of the build to work from.

also for the push and pull fans can i just buy 2 12v fans then mount one right way up, and the second oposite to achieve the push and pull?

and fianally, can i wire all this to the amp remote +, and amp ground -
