Can anyone recommend a cheap amp to run a pair of 6x9's - so only needs to be 2 channels, bout 300w per channel.

Im suddenly finding the urge to have more mid bass now  I've got 2 sets of components front and rear, so need something a little more.

While on the subject, any recommend some cheap and cheerful 6x9's?

EDIT: Not too keen on the splX range tho.. I'll prob get the sony 6x9's so mainly interested in the amp

Ooooh, just seen a deal on CarAudioSecurity - 6x9s and amp. Square VIBEs, how sweet is that :D

What you think?

It is evenly matched frequency wise so will give more power than an amp of the same power running those 6x9's. Sounds like a good. deal. Try em' if they sound underpowered just sell the amp. Youve still got some good 6x9's. (y)

i'm tempted. Ive always loved the square stuff. i was gonna get a pair of square kicker subs, but couldnt afford em :(

Personally out of those 2 id go for the infinity's, but thats just my opinion. The vibes are different but everyones seen square 6x9's before. (y)

i think i'll go for the infinitys too. i've already got their reference comps and have little grudge with them. shame the amp isnt 4 channel so i could chuck them on it too. However, you may be able to help with this...

i have 4 channels out of my HU. i've put 2 for rear comps and 2 front comps. now if i out the front 4" comps mouted in the crappy OEM locations, run the new rear 6x9's off the second amp, and bridge my current rear comps and put them in the front (in a custom box) so they got a bit more power.

Cos otherwise i think i'll have too much at the rear (2 subs, 2 6x9's, and a set of 13cm comps), and relatively naff all in the front (a set of 4" comps).

grr, but i do LOVE them vibe speakers :D

I got lost a bit there m8. Bit late 4 me. :D You said second amp, do you mean ur head unit amplifier as ur first? If thats what u mean and u wanna bridge them on the head unit i dont think u can.

lol, i just re-read what i wrote - was a bit off :D

i meant i was going to bridge the 4 outputs on my HU and connect them straight to the infinity comps. then have the 6x9s off the amp im going to buy.

But i think i'll just leave the comps i have in the front at the moment alone, and just bring the rear ones to the middle of the car somewhere.

I have absolutely no idea! In theory you can ( i think in my mates old nova he had his 6x9s bridged on the HU)

Theoretically yes, but its hard and a bit risky in practice for system stability from what Ive heard...Amps that are designed to be bridged should be :D

Its because a BTL (Bridge Tied Load) amp uses the feedback from one signal to make the other amp work, and all the loading becomes a bit complicated

It wont be too hard for me to wire up, i had to completely hard wire the stereo in from scratch anyway (the uno doesnt have a connector) :(

But i do see what you're saying about the stability - it probably dont do the HU's amp much good. i think i'll just keep to what i have now, just relocate the current rear components to the center of the car somewhere. Test the old woodwork skills out a bit :D

Ordered the vibes in the end. My stereo is now worth about 8x what my car is worth
