i know it has been discussed alot but i was wondering if someone who has wired up their stereo using a switched ignition could post a picture of which wire they used so i can get a rough guess at where to look
thanks

Not got a piccie as it is dark. But I scotchlocked a cable to the positive wire on the cigarette lighter then run it up the centre console and up to the stereo.i know it has been discussed alot but i was wondering if someone who has wired up their stereo using a switched ignition could post a picture of which wire they used so i can get a rough guess at where to look

i have had the gater off the gearstick but its full of foam in there so can't get to the bottom of the 12v socket how did u get to it??
pics as promised
the foam seems to be glued in.
i didnt want to take to much apart did u remove the socket to get to the wire if so how easy was it do you just push the bottom or is it clipped in?
i have finally done it
this is a sort of guide
i removed the foam and removed the socket from the bottom of the 12v socket and checked the connections to find the 12v switched mine was a red and white wire
i put some clips on the wire to connect the 12v switched to a red wire i had lying round and clipped the other end to the red wire on the back of the H/U i fed the wire around the back through the gap at the bottom
i then put all the foam back in after making sure the wire worked correctly
the only thing it doesnt do is turn on when the key isnt in the ignition you have to put it to the first setting to turn it on
hope this helps
