The reception in my car is poor. I mainly listen to AM MW stations and it is horrific in most places, could possibly be the current arial on the car?

Anyway thinking of updating audio system to a DAB system, is this worth it? If so, what peice of kit should i go for, which is reasonably cheap.

Personally I think DAB will be a disaster (if it happens) for a car driver, it will be so here & there, coming and going...

Your aerial needs to have a decent frequency related resonant length and a good earth to be effective, and of course a "deaf" radio does no-one any good....

Got it in my step mums X5 and its good but all aftermarket ones are meant to be crap.

Cities will be cr*p Matt, and so will the extremeties of coverage, as with all things digital like digital TV, you either get it or you dont, no swooshing like with AM or FM with DAB, that IMO is far better suited to a fixed location.

I have DAB in my set up. If you have coverage (which I do) then I find it is great. Good quality, detailed text and a better choice of stations. Hopefully the radio stations will get their act together and complete the coverage post haste.

Its a service that can only improve and im sure that you will get coverage on most longer journeys on the Mway etc and im sure that FM/AM has its problems round town so no change there. Just dont try and skimp on what you buy. As they say, you only get what you pay for.
