Changing factory radio - HELP!

Just bought a 2007 Fiat punto Grande Active 1.2 & want to fit a new cd player that allows me to connect my ipod.
There are plenty of threads that cover some questions but i need a little more help!!

1. If i fit a new cd player will i lose the steering wheel controls?
2. Do i have to buy an adapter for the cables, I've seen this mentioned in some threads & it avoids the need to cut cables!!??
3. Can anyone recommend a head unit- not too expensive!

1. Yes you will, but you can buy like an adapter harness to make them work.
2. Umm im not to sure about that im afraid
3. What features do you want; usb? aux? bluetooth? and your price range?
