if you got aftermarket HU then on the back should be a wire dedicated to doing just that (most of the ones ive seen are blue, have seen a pink and an orange as well), if not you can take form cigaret lighter live, this will turn it on and off with your car, or you can have a manual switch (would you belive my m8 actually did this....)

Finally got the package through and it looks the dogs, I just had a few questions to ask. How would you get the live cable through the engine bulk head to the insidee of the car? Wheres the best earthing point in the boot of the GP? Cheers guys

Undo the scuttle panel on passenger side and there is a massive rubber gromit carefully put a cut in this then reach through and do the same on the other side then feed the power cable through. I earthed to the rear boot latch in mine.

So my dad and I finnaly got round to fitting the sub and it sounds great. We had one problem at first with the amp getting no power so we tracked back and found it was the wiring so that was all fixed and the sub started working. The only little thing that is annoying is that if you move the volume up on the bass control they sent us, it will stay the same and suddenly jump up. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks again for all your advice and help greatly appreciated.

I dont know about the Bass knob perhaps ask the seller on this one buddy.

We did have a problem with the amp though. It had been dropped somehow, i think it may have been something do to with the courier company, and was split down the side. So we rang up the guy at auto-motives and he offered to send us a new one straight away. To save him postage we drove up there and the company was brilliant and swapped the amp for a new one.
