Hi all, Just picked up my Pasadoble Red 100hp on Friday. Yes, very pleased with it. 2 years old and just 10K on the clock. Unfortunately the previous owner was not wise enough to install the hifi upgrade :(
So I'm looking for some guidelines on what I should do to improve the sound quality. Replace the fronts with some better quality Pioneers or suchlike? And the rears too? Or just go old-school and slap some 6*9's on the rear shelf (would they fit?). Don't want to spend a fortune, just wondering if anyone else has had to do this and what their experience was.

Cheers.

It depends on your tastes TBH.
As Gary said the first thing would be to fit a nice Double Din HU in there (i say double din as these look better than the singles) This will give you a slightly better sound quality and volume potential.
Then you can sound deaden the doors. This will make an amazing improvement to the sound as it makes the area around the speaker less resonant allowing the speaker to perform much much better. I will be doing a group buy this month on some deadening material so let me know if you want some. £60 + hopefully some discount on that for two sheets is more than enough for the front doors but a third sheet would allow you to do the rear panels as well
Then i would go for a four channel amp and some decent components if all of the above doesnt make enough of an improvement.
Let us know what you think and we can help further.

To be honest I'm not too keen on replacing the headunit. IMHO the standard speakers sound awful. I know sound deadening material would help but I was hoping someone had tried simply replacing the existing speakers with something of higher quality. Did this in my coupe and multipla and was very pleased with results. I'll maybe browse halfords/ebay and see what I can find. Will I need adaptors of any kind to connect? Thanks.

What he said. I just used sound deadening on the standard pods and put an MDF baffle behind. This seemed to do the trick for the baffle side of things.

I would go to caraudiosecurity.com or caraudiodirect.com for a good deal on components. You will get much better than hellfrauds and they can honor warranty unlike ebay sellers.

Does anybody have a pic for future reference. ^^^. The stilo speaker was originally part of the pod it just needs cutting out and a bit of work on where the old spider was attached.

My fronts are in a box downstairs somewhere. The rear ones are my speaker adaptors atm :D. Will get a pic up if i can find the usb cable to upload it!

Does the standard head unit have line out connections to enable an amp? Does anyone know the standard power output of this head unit? Now thinking that some decent fronts and a modest amp will suit my needs. Anyone else done this?
