Hey, new to the forums.

I've just received my new '98 Punto and fancied installing the car radio out of my old car into this new one.

Problem though. Everything went fine, used the ISO cable for the player itself and the DIN to JASO adapter - for obviously - the radio.

Went to put it into the mounting and *click* the pin inside of the DIN snapped off inside the adapter. Kind of stumped of where to go now, since I get no radio reception whatsoever. Is it a case of buying a new cable completely? Or can I mod it somehow?

A point in the right direction would be great,

Hi mate welcome to the forum :wave:. Have you got a couple of pictures that you can show us it may make things a bit easier to understand.

Yeah sorry, I thought it may of sounded a bit confusing.

Anyway, here is a pic:




Basically, I'm holding the adaptor in my right hand and the actual cars aerial cable is on the left. If you look though, the little pin thing that usually sits inside the aerial cable has been broken off into the adaptor (hard to justify that from the brightness).

Trying to put the aerial and the adaptor together gives VERY VERY weak reception.

Cor your P'shop skills are great, you should come and work for me lol.
I would say its knackered and you need a new aerial for the car :bang:
If you are feeling really clever you could adapt the wire to fit one of the new shapes that you need.
Your guess is as good as mine as to how to do it i will move this thread into the punto section tonight and see if any of the boys over there have any ideas.

Your best bet would be a breakers yard i did have a quick look on ebay and could'nt see anything. Lets see what the punto boys have to say.

Yeah, I've spoken to someone more knowledgable about these things than me and he reckons he can get one cheap from somewhere.

But I guess that means taking out the dash and everything, yeah?
