I recently brought a FIAT Grande Punto 2008 5-door with an 08-reg.

It has a Blaupunkt stereo very similar (if not the same) to the one in this video: -

However, try as I try, I am unable to get an MP3 CD working in it. Everytime I make an MP3 CD and put it in the stereo, the display comes back with CD ERROR and ejects the CD around 2 seconds later.

I got a list of instructions on how the CD player works when I brought the car. It tells me that it can play MP3 CD's and tells me how to do it.

It says that there are certain characters you cannot have in the filename.

So to ensure of this, I've been burning the CDs using Nero Burning ROM using the ISO-9660 file system (which it states to use in the stereo manual). I've set it so each file has a maximum of 11 characters.

When I choose which files I wish to burn, they come out in a similar filename to the one below: -
MORY_KAN.MP3

According to the instructions, that should work fine. But everytime I try it, it just doesn't work.

Can anyone help me?

what speed are you using to burn the cd? First of all - are you sure that ur cd player is capable to read MP3 discs? There are two versions of that cd player afair - one can play mp3's and the other can't - that's the same with Bravo options...

Yeah dont you have to have the upgrade Hi Fi package that has the sub in the boot for MP3 CD's.

I was writing it at 2400 kb/s. That was the lowest choice they had on Nero for me.

It looks like I've got the version that doesn't have the MP3 CD option. Makes sense as the dealer who sold it to me never metioned anything about MP3's.

Still don't know why they gave me instructions on how to create MP3 CD's when it can't do it.

Well if you want an upgrade then were here to help. Do you have a usb connection if not that can be done using the CD changer connection in the back of the HU.

I would love an upgrade, as the radio gets boring. How easy is it to do? What do I need to do?

LOL there is a guide in the GP guides section. Or you could just buy CD's and support your favourite artists by giving them what they need to continue in the business... Money

Also it should still play WMV's or whatever PC users burn non mp3 CD's.
