I have posted a few questions on here before about basic sound systems being a newbie at this i wanna start off very basic..... so i want to change my headunit from the factory fitted one, i have a Punto Mk2b 04 n wondered if this headunit would fit or is there any addition cables i would need to buy?

An american unit will have problems with radio tuning, so would the HD radio and all of the other features i guess.
Have a look on caraudiodirect.com and caraudiosecurity.com then you know that you are getting a compatible unit with warranty.
 
you shouldn't need any additional wiring. the punto wiring should just plug straight in although occasionally (depending on headunit) you need to adapt the wiring slightly yourself. You may need an aerial adapter which is a few quid from halfords.

There would be no point on the unit that he linked too because it works on US radio band. US Band's only go in ODD numbers UK frequencies go in Even No's. (y)

The best advice that i can give is, if you dont no what you are doing keep things as plain and simple as possible dont make a hard job harder by over complicating things.

the wiring would be the same but from what volxstu says its the radio that's the problem so yeah a UK would be fine and the standard punto wiring will either work perfectly or might need a tiny bit of adapting to work... then the aerial adapter too possible. its more straight-forward than it sounds!
 
Be careful when you buy as it says it does a lot of things but i believe you will need quite expensive add on boxes and things.
Just post up a linky when you have found one.
 
ok vol.... i was gunna attach a cd changer to the alpine HU aswell if i fancie playing cds in the car... im jus saving my cash asi need an alarm fitted to my car before i add any ICE releated equiptment to it (y) fitting my alarm in the next few weeks im jus reading up on everything at the moment:slayer:
 
im reposting on this thread to tell u im not going to be doing anything else to my car as my car was vandalized today :cry: having many huge dents on most panels and it was keyed on every panel down to the primer! except the roof! so basically im stuck i cant afford a respray so its over for the meantime till i figure out what to do.... :( the car looks a mess... sorry its off topic jus thought id let u kno Volxstu... ok it wasnt the best or newest car on here but it was an 04 reg with low mileage

So you were driving you car insured Third Party :cry:. Its sad to see wht idiots are out there is there any chance of the Police doing anything about it.
 
na its fully comp its just being a student i cant afford the repairs and i can barely afford the insurance as it is at the moment :cry: i kno whu has done it.....i just want a different car new reg new fresh begining im down .....but im not out im jus saving for a new one :( ill post some of the damages tonight if i can get hold of my bro with his camera
