anyone got any advice on wire running in the GP, any snags i may run into, I'm nearly ready to start my install so any information is appreciated?

Oh btw think you guys will like what im going to be doing in the boot, ill take some photo's when i get going, basically a double layer false floor with perspex windows to see the amps (gotta see em they have light up logo's lol) and a flush corner mounted sub box so i still have at least half a boot but a qulity looking install

Re: Bit of confirmation needed GP ICE

I feel sorry for the OP his thread keeps geting hijacked lol ill move your post Ruuko to your own thread.
There is no need for 2 false floors. What most people tend to do it build a wooden shelf the same size as the amp then bolt that tightly to the pole that sticks out in the spare wheel bay that. The screw thing that normally holds the spare wheel in place. Then use battoning so raise the amp to desired hight then put your false floor with perspex window on top of that. That way you have easier access for the wiring and you reduce the added weight.

I apologise for all the questions! cheers volx i'll probably end up doing that, ims till waiting on my bloody fascia adapter grrrr.

EDIT: have any photos of how it is under the false floor as a bit of reference?

hehe yeah dont think it will be a problem I just like to research before i do things, I used to make three piece suites and fitted wardrobes, helped with a few boot installs for mates fiesta and an ibiza just never done my own

chucked my new hu tonight only did it quickly will have a proper look tomorow, didnt need the ISO to canbus adapter, the factory HU was just standard ISO.

Cant get steering controls to work though, anyone know a procdeure I have to go through? Its an alpine CDA-9883R HU btw with autoleads grande punto adapter stalk.

I'll play more tomoz, thanks for any help/advice in the meantime

fiddlesticks!

I'll mess arround a bit tomoz, probably give alpine and autoleads a bell if nothing works!

Then the last resort will be buying that connects 2 one.

In fact im pretty sure you did tell me to buy that one originally , really should listen sometimes lol :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Have a search around i think that somebody said they had to still connect the 2 power wires on the stalk adaptor to bypass the ignition feed. Something along those lines anyway.

LMAO! there working now! Anybody want to hazard a guess as to why my steering controls were not working, AND no my own stupidity is not a valid answer (although it is the correct one)

Answers on a postcard lol :p
