hey,

jus thinkin bout updating the punto's somewhat pants stereo system with the below. but i wont be just doing streight swaps (oh no), talkin bout cutting holes in the doors over the speaker grill an have em on show, neon lights bladah bladah blah.....

also u kno how the light dimms on and off when u unlock, thinkin bout stickin sum lights under the door handles to come on with that too :)

Kenwood KDC-BT8141U Head unit

Fusion powerplant 6.5" 3-way components in the front

Fusion reactor 5.24" 3-way components in the back

Fusion reactor twin subs (900W) in the boot w/ fusion reactor 6x9's built into the sub box (dont like havin parcel shelf speakers, adverts for theifs)

Double Green neons in boot (hooked up 2 boot light switch)

Ice blue neons in footrests (double tubes, had one tube on each side in my old car, NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH!!! lol)

also hook up a couple of led lights (blue) to the inside of the inner door handes, just to ad that touch of quality :) (btw ive gt a blue punto so thats why im goin mental on the blue neons haha!

anyways let me kno what you all think...

Cheers,

Nick

Have you bought the stuff yet, the power plant comps will not fit in the doors as you only have 49mm clearance between the mount and the window.
Also i think you mean that your 3ways are coaxiles as components consist of a woofer and seperate tweeter.
Do not go cutting the doors unless you are doing a proper door build where everything will be sealed and the speakers have a very solid mount. If a speaker is loose or not in an ideal enclosure you will get no better Mid bass to standard.
Punto_Matt on here knows a guy who will be able to do you some custom door pods for £90 which is well worth the money if you dont know what you are doing, how speakers work and know how to fibreglass. If he doesnt give you the link i will find it for you later.

Throw the 6x9's in the bin or sell them to somebody, i know that you got them with the package but that doesn't mean that you have to use them. You do not ever ever ever need 6x9's if you have a sub they are just a cheap source of bass with very little sound quality.

What amplifiers are you using i presume you have the 5 channel fusion.

All in all that isnt a bad start so dont let the above put you off i just think you need a bit of guidance to stop your ice sounding like a wet fart.

Neons are a personal preference so if you like them that is your choice, usually people on here respect this fact but dont let anybody change your mind if you really like them.

thanks for th advice m8, yea i guess ur right bout the 6x9 thing an i was tryna figure out the whole solidness of mountin the fronts on to the outside, i guess i can always dream.......

He has a grande not a mk2, unless the grande is 49mm aswell?

I would personally go for powerpant stuff with fusion, better than the reactor speakers.

Contact http://www.auto-motives.biz/ tell them Jon from puntomk2.co.uk sent you and they will sort you out with some good deals on powerplant subs and speakers.

Also the fusion HU with inbuilt Ipod dock will be a good choice aswell.

Fusion reactor twin subs are poor. For the price and the space it takes up baring in mind that they wont run in perfect harmoney. Can get better single subs with better specs.

I gave up giving that option on here as apparently not everyone spends £1000,s on systems.

Even though a £150-200 sub will out perform 2 of the fusion ones.

2 JBL GT-4's 12" in a ported box and you're laughing, there is even some on TA.

Oooops wrong car. Theres plenty of room in the GP aint there, i think that you still need to build a baffle to bring the speaker forward for the some fusion speakers as you get a slight rub on the window if my memory serves me correctly. It will always be better to build an MDF baffle anyway even if they dont catch the windows as this will give your speaker a more stable mount to kick off of and you have plenty of room inbetween the OE mount and the door card.
I never said anything against powerplant or powerpant's as your post said :ROFLMAO:
(Sorry i need to get out more) but bak on topic if you can get this stuff at a good price i would recommend it any day.
+ £200 is about how much he is spending on the whole system ATM.

Ive just upgraded to new comps and they are 65mm deep and there is still plenty of depth there. All those blue and green neons sound like a brilliant way of ruining your GP aswell :)
