I have a bit of a strange problem with the Radio in my GPS. The car was in for servive and had to have the steering Col replaced. This took 10 days, and when I got the car back the radio defaulted and displayed "SUD AMERICA MODE" . I lost all presets and all settings went back to factory default. Now I can retune FM and CD and MP3 are fine, but MW will not tune in and LW has gone altogether. MW will only scan in blocks of 10 ie Radio 5 is 693 or 909 but I can only get 690 or 700 and 900 or 910. Anyone know of how to get this back to UK settings? I also lost the Blue and me functions on the steering wheel which came back on their own. This morning the battery light stayed on and the power steering failed. All faults are now fixed but the dealer cannot sort out the radio. If it ain't broke etc..

Ask your dealer to contact Blaupunkt service centre, there technical department (Dave) will be able to help them sort it out. Their phone number is on the radio warranty exchange form. GPs have a two year warranty on audio so if its less than two years old and cant be reset by your dealer then it will be covered under warranty.

Don't knwo if you're still having this problem but it happened to me tonight. After trawling the interent for ages I finally came accross the answer...on an Alfa ROmeo forum no less.

The radio's provided in the Fiats/Alfa's have 2 modes: Eurpoean and South American
To switch between the 2 you must press the FM button and Preset 1 within 5 seconds of turning the radio on. The selection will then display for 2 seconds

Wouldn't it be useful if this was in the owners handbook?

Hope this helps people.

Well done! Hats off to you!

Mind you, it would be even more useful if Fiat dealers and techs knew how to deal with audio issues...

When I bought my 06 Sporting M-jet, the USB port went on the blink. I took the car to the dealer and said that it no longer reads any music files. Their response was that it is normal, the two USB ports in the glovebox were for dealer use only...

I rest my case. I had so many issues with the car, had it not been for all the helpful and knowledgeable people of this site, I would have sold it...

Just tried altering mine and MW/ LW still doesn't work

nice try though

Thanks just seen this and tried it and it works! Can now listen to the Test matches and five live! I might even tell the dealer who is "still looking into the fault".
