Probably the wrong forum so can someone move it if i am wrong!

Anyway, i have a connection problem with my kenwood cd head unit.

For some reason it stopped playing my cd so i took the unit out and checked the connection to find that the RED ignition wire has come out of the connector.

On close inspection it seems as though there is some kind of green gunge in the connection for the RED ignition wire.. I dont know why. I try putting it back in but it falls straight out.

Is there a quick patch up job for this, or will i need a new Wire/lead/connector/ etc...

Thanks

hi the conectors usualy have a little locking tab on them that locks the wire in place try putting it in the other way round. or you could just cut the wire off the other plug and join the wires together make sure to leave enough wire on the plug so you can re join the wire if ever needed just looked at the pic again looks like the wire has snapped off if thats the case you could fanny on getting the little conector out of the block and solder it on. i would just join the wires would be easier

I dont have a solder iron.

what is the whole thing/lead thingy called ?the part that goes in the back of the head unit ? as i'll just buy another one, cheers

im not sure but you will probably have to get it from kenwood you will have to give them the model number and they will supply you the correct one.i would just find the wire directly opposit on the other iso plug cut it and either use a connector block or just twist the wires together and wrap in insulating tape around the joint.i have done this a few times especialy with older kenwoods must be something with the wires snapping on these

should do aslong as the plug is the same that goes in to the head unit.looks the same as mine.
