Im normally pretty good wit this sort of thing but i just got 1 question.

Anyone know wats the max wattage for amps i can take from a Cinq Battery, Dont think its a normal battery anyway as it looks a lot larger, more of a performance one, but a std cinq battery will do, and ill know this will have enough.

Basically i got an Amp running at 1000w running two 1000w 10" Subs, and Now i want another amp to run a 15", Im thinking just a little one like 600w, i dont really want another battery to charge up, and a cap wouldnt help in this arrangment would it? Would i get away wit a more powerfull performance battery designed for ice if the one i have now wont hold its charge?

Anyhelp appreciated thanks.

i could b wrong on this but i think it depends on the size of the fuses u are using to run the ice.

i had a standard battery / alternator and had 35 amp fuses in my amp and didnt have any problems, if in doubt u get buy a more power alternator to give more power to the battery.

i could however b horribly wrong with all that but i was under the impression that is how it worked after readin the haynes ICE manual!

I wouldn´t draw over 45 amps out of the stock alternator(would cause early failure) but i don´t think anyone would need to draw that much power out of a cento(enough to run a 1500watt amp at full power with no distortion);)

as an example:the 8channel 3000watt amp in my Calibra draws about 90amps at full power and thats 245db of sound(only had it that high for a soundoff though):D

I think you misunderstood, how many people run their amps at full power!!!! It is highly unlikely that you will ever run those two amps at the same time and at full power(hearing damage would be one reason, and blown speakers another)As i said max power power for ice i would draw would be 45amps, you should think about getting a higher capacity battery(red/yellow top would be great if you can get it cheap) Do remember the cento has more then 45amps available just you should leave something spare for lights and accessories or it will damage the alternator on the long run (my Calibra has a 200amp alternator, if i turn up the stereo at idle it will stall the engine/squeal the belt):p

If you try to draw more power then is available it will distort(if the sepup is balanced of course)

245db yeah I find that VERY hard to believe as well,

Somehow I think there is some slight exaggeration going on here.

Having searched on the web I found this:

Decibels (dB) are measured logarithmically. An increase of 10 dB is ten times as loud. Thus, 80 dB is 10 times louder than 70 dB and 90 dB is 100 times louder than 70 dB

Sounds above 85 dB are considered harmful,

120 dB is unsafe and 150 dB causes physical damage to the human body.

Jet airplanes are about 133 dB at 33 m, or 100 dB at 170m.

Windows break at about 163 dB.

Eardrums rupture at 190 to 198 dB.

Shock waves and sonic booms are about 200 dB at 330 m.

Sounds around 200 dB can cause death to humans and are generated near bomb explosions (e.g. 23 kg of TNT detonated 3 m away).

The space shuttle is around 215 dB (or about 175 dBA at 17m).

Nuclear bombs are 240 dB to 258 dB (distance unknown—values useless).

And you say your car ia 245db, which according to many websites is 5 times as loud as a Nuclear bomb, (LOL) I don't think so.

Sorry that was a typo, it´s 145db(since when would subs handle 150db+)

And a 3000watt amp would never produce that kind of volume levels lol

:) lol, thats ok mate, we all make mistakes from time to time.

And in all fairness it was 6:39am when you originally posted that message, and being a student (ok so I've finished uni now but I still count myself as one for the time being) I've never seen that time of day in three years.

No offence intended, and I hope none as taken by anything I said?
