hi all,

I am looking at installing a some head rest screens, flip down monitor for front passenger seat and playstation 2 for long road trips overseas.

I have no idea what i need to connect them all together!

I have a home cinema system and use an AV amp, i assume this is the same for a car but have had no luck finding one.

My questions are basically, what do i need to split the video signal, what do i need to allow the sound to be connected to the screens and played through the screens ONLY (they have wireless Earphones) so that i can still listen to music via the connect NAV unit as normal.

Ideally i will have a simple set up that goes; playstation video and sound --> screens.... is it this simple?

thanks(y)

use the 3-phono leads from the playstation so one for left audio, one for right and one for video. then get photo splitters and run each of these wires to each screen as they should have AV inputs using phono connectors. that way the audio from the ps will go ONLY to the screens so headphones will be required, you could take another audio signal to an aux in on HU so you would have the option of using car speakers too.

what sort of flip screen you using in the front?

The link above would be the sort of thing that you are looking for you take the source video out and that thing will do the rest.
The sound you will just hook up like normal. If you want to be able to cut off the sound from within the cars speakers and have it come out on the individual screens that will be a little harder but not impossible.
