Hi guys,

Right, trying to fit my amp ive been a proper muppet and didnt disconnect the battery, i know very stupid and dangerous and there were sparks when i attempted to remove the cable to place amp + cable on it. However, stereo wont turn on at all now, or even have any power at all, like let me remove/put in disk. So i think the fuse has blown, is this likely?

On a MK3 Punto, is the fuse box on the right next to the steering column, if it is what kinda screwdriver is needed for that? cause i cant find one that fits.

Any help appreciated, thx.

by mk3 do u mean mk2b rather than grande punto?

if so...

open the fuse box to the right of steering wheel with 50p! it works! once the two screws are undone you need to pull the lid slightly towards the steering wheel then it will hang down to get to the fuse box.

Not made of money :p as it happens i got a 50 in change today so will try it thx. Ye, i mean the face lift of the MK2 Punto. Lights that merge into the boot. Hopefully it is just a blown fuse, tried the old standard Punto CD player, that wouldnt work either, so shouldnt be the unit.

Thx.

Arghh, pissing it down with rain again so wont try today, will wait till tomorrow. Hopefully gonna get a mate to help me fit it tomorrow, but not knowing what fuse it is will be a pain in the arse and delay things. All i managed to do today was get the RCA cables from the headunit to the boot lol, im rubbish at these things.

its much better to take your time and get it right. don't need to disconnect the battery until everything is in place and you want to connect the positive (once the amps are earthed) but if in doubt, always safer to do so.

taking the power cable to the boot is the same as the rcas so just check which fuses are which in the handbook so u know what you need to do tomorrow.

actually i've changed my mind, before you do anything, disconnect the battery. i don't want to be responsible for you damaging anything or worse!

Lol, ok. Will disconnect the battery first. I really dont wanna risk damaging anything further either tbh.
