Hello all.

I've just got a windfall of £200 and though I'd treat myself to a speaker upgrade/amp set up!

What would people recommend? I've got a Punto HGT.

Either 2 new speakers in boot amped up or just 4 new speakers in total all around the car.

Can anyone give ideas of amps/speakers within the budget too?

Cheers

Its totally up to you on this one, it depends on what your after. Its totally down to users preference, Firstly make sure your soucre signal is at a high standard. (head unit), If it has Front, Rear and Sub preouts its perfect to use aplifiers because they use a higher voltage, I would recoment a component system, mid range inifianty reference speakers go for about £60 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INFINITY-Refe...ryZ18800QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and you can pick up an amp that will power them nearly to there maximum loudness(80watts rms), 2 channel at 2omhs 80watts rms for about £45, both in new condition.

This will leave you with money left over, i would only power the front speakers and not the rear, also dont cut your p'shelf if your planning on gettin a sub, 6x9's desort at loud volumes and were designed for the small width size. (only 6'). If you have a sub and you have 6x9's the way the air moves in the boot over power the 6x9's so there is no need for them, if you have them in, dont panic, it will be fine, just turn the bass down so they only play high and mid, and turn the sub setting up on the preout for the head unit.

Just a lil guide to get ya going. * not sure on the size of your speakers *

Thanks for the advice. I've ordered the comps and amp you recommended!

What gauge wiring do I go for now?

Cheers
