Hello, all. First post so please try to be kind! :D

Last year I removed my standard factory fitted Punto stereo and put in new Sony one, chiefly cause I wanted to play MP3 disks.

Anyway, today I thought it might be an idea to fit some parcel shelf speakers in addition to the measly two in the front doors. Cut the holes in the parcel shelf, fitted the speakers smoothly - all fine and dandy. Now I have found I don't know how to wire them! There is a wire with a connector on on the right hand side just under the parcel shelf but I'm not sure if this is for the rear speakers or something else!? There is however, no corresponding wire on the left (if indeed the wire on the right is for speakers).

Can anybody help??!!

Im not familiar with the punto wiring but id be surprised if the speaker wiring was already there.

Check to see what wires are comin out of the ISO connector behind the headunit. There will be four colours of speaker wire going into this. See if there are four lots of speaker wire coming out as well.

If there isnt any wires for the back there then you will have to use the wire supplied with the 6x9s.

Well I have run the wires from each speaker to the front of the car anyway using the plastic skirting inside to hide them but I'm pretty sure I can't just plug the bare wires into the head unit. Do I need some connectors? Not sure what holes they go into either! :I:D

When you run the wires to the headunit, there will be four colours of speaker wire that run into an ISO connector from the headunit. When youve found out which of the four colours of wire are for the front speakers youl have two colours of wire left for the rear speakers.

Cut the wires for the rear speakers just before they go into the iso plug, then put spades on the end of them. Then you put spades on the end of the length of wire from the 6x9s and plug them together.

Sony use Green/black, green and Purple/black, purple for the rear speakers, and white/black, white and Grey/black, grey on the front (either that or the other way around) you should just be able to hook up to them, most sonys have all those wires just hanging out of the plug on the back. See what you can do.

Cheers
