It is Ripspeed DVD-722B DVD/CD Player.

Not really a fan of that brand so I couldn't tell you. Maybe it will tell you in the manual.

ripspeed units are not made by ripspeed as such, that is just the halfords brand name. theyre made by a chinese manufacturer and sold to companies that brand them under theyre own name. i've seen the 7" motorised ripspeed dvd player branded as sharp before :p

Hmm.. a anonymous chinese company, making generic head units. I'm sure they are top notch

Ah Ripspeed, I bought The 720 Flip Up Screen, What A mistake it was, took it back and just got a alpine head unit, good luck anyway,

There is nothing wrong with ripspeed, i just dont like it personally, to me its cheap. and reminds me of when my dad did up his 1.8 ford escort diesel....what a idiot, anyway. id rather spend £35 on a set of sparco pedals then £15 on ripspeed, however, i have alot of friends who love it and never have problems with it,

I have the same player but in black, its not possible to change the background unfortunatly.
When driving at night it lights up the inside of the car.

I've heard they're alot of problems with them. Never even come into my mind to ever buy one. IMO needs to stick to branded names for stuff like that

It annoys me that there isnt actually a stop button on it.

For the price i dont think you can beat it, cd-dvd-radio-sd card reader. Those same functions from a named brand would be around three times the price.

Swings and roundabouts.

in fairness you cant expect everything you want from any product, good example is the iphone, no matter how good it is there are thousands of people complaining about it
i sell these headunits regulary, very good for a hundred quid, we have had a bit of trouble with them but the good thing is that you still get a years guarantee, same you get with units 10 times its price, and your covered for any minor fault (i could go on, lol), the 722 had all the functions but its silver fascia wasnt that attractive tho the black 730 looks very JVC exad and has a few extras, its attracting a lot of attention these days
as for controls on the unit, for all dvd players the actual controls on the unit is very limited, so the remote will have a stop button, pause is near the exact same function in terms of a cd anyway
but i doubt you can change the backround, ive never seen this done, i will test of the pioneer and alpine units so see if its even possible on them some time
njoy the unit :)

well apart from look, my personal opinion is that the black one looks well sleek and actually looks well in a dash instead of the silver one sticking out like a sore thumb
from memory i think the extras are an SD card reader and an auxilary in plus they fixed reoccuring problems that occured with the grey 722 model
