Hello all

Right i have a grande punto srtipes. 1.2, with blue and me, and im thinking about getting a sub and amp to put in my car. the big question i ask is, are their any pre outs or AUX leads in the back of the bog standard headunit, or is there a cable i can connect from my amp straight to my headunit. Or do i have to get it proffesionally done?. i would rather try doing it myself as its cheaper?

Hope you get what i mean

Any advice on how to do it would be much app

Thanks

Gibbard

It's unlikely that there would be any RCA outputs although you should be able to get a converter to provide an RCA output.

but you will most likely get static that way., the RCA adapter has a ground wire to remove the interferance form the optput sound.,

in my punto, my kenwood head unit doesnt have rca outputs so ive had to use the conversion kit to rca, its pretty impressive for 15 quid. heres how it works,
1) on the converter you have 4 wires, 2 go to your left rear speaker and 2 to the right speaker. when they are wired up you,
2)can plug your rca cables into them then you can,
3) wire up your system as you would anyother.
i upgraded my head unit then thoug i want an amp and sub but i wanted to dry coz it didnt have any rca uoutputs but i heard of the converter thingg. mine was from audio island, i didnt care about the price i just wanted it. My sound in my car is ace now do what your feelings tell you (BUY ONE)

Buy a new head unit and facia adaptor i wouldnt ever use a High level input for an amp (conversion thingy). Its not that hard si i would start off getting the head unit then we can help you with the rest.

hmmm, sorry its taken long to reply, i have been away at work :( anyways, i got blue and me in my punto, so if i was to buy a new headunit, does anyone know if i would loose all my blue and me funtions??? plus i was wondering aswell if i do just buy a conversion kit thingy instead of getting a new headunit, where does the romote wire go?

I did go to halfords this afternoon and they said that you cant really do it with a standard headunit with one of those conversion kits coz the sound will be not very good, but i didnt know weather to belive him??

all i want is a decent sub and amp working in my car lol,

well you will have to do it the right way then mate and get a new head unit. there's no point in f*cking around with conversion kits, for one you just dont have the room at the back of your head unit for it to fit and the guy at halfords is right the sound is sh*t.:)
