well earlier this year i brought some audiobahn speakers from bassjunkies only to find out they where to big and deep to fit the front doors or in the rears. And i hate 6x9's in the rear shelf, so dicided to put them in the rear quarters i calculated wrong and mounted to high up so they dant fit there!

on a good note there is a nice space on top of the trans tunnel just behind the front seats so i made a mdf frame and fibreglassed the top and sides, and hit it with some bondo to smooth it all out, at the mo its bout 1/2 finished just needs the sanding to be finished, primed, sprayed (closest match to car body paint) and then a bottom to the box being glassed!

I will recomence the project speaker box next year now as its toooooo bloody cold and dark to do any thing as i only have a garage with no heat and no lights. but heres some taster shots enjoy. Let me know what you think of it so far!

Looks like you have put a lot of effort into that mate. I'd be concerned on the placement though, people hopping in and out of the back might end up damaging them?

Anyway, keep us up to date, I bet it'll look much better once it's finished off.

not a problem as i rarely have any one in the back, and my mates know that if any thing gets broke then, i get a few of the queens notes for replacein the parts. Plus they know that these comps where not that cheap (£100)

what a weird place to put them, if your going to put a box so blatently in the middle of the car you cud of spent the same effort to take apart the middle seat of the rear and installin them into it therefore maintaining the shape of the interior while creating a subtle mount for them. you not run into trouble for puttin your seats back, leg room, possibly pivoting the seat to allow people in the rear. hope it work lik, would like to see it finished

wats weird bout it thats where I want them plus its somthing different! Plus if i sell the car its easier to take a box out from the floor than to put a seat back together!
the front seats fit perfectly and do not touch the box at all thats the way i designed it, i didnt just go like a bull at a gate into this project i planned, the seats can also fully recline and still no touching!
hardly anyone ever sits in the back of the car, and there is plenty of room for there feet, and like i said to 'mattmk1' if any thing gets broke they pay for it simple really.

will be finished nxt year around jan/feb time!

thats not the worst/strangest place to put speakers ive seen,
ive seen speakers in the passengers footwell
right in the place where u put your feet?!! stupid.
looks like you've made a good job! nice one (y)
