Hi,
I was thinking about bidding for this amp. Is it any good?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4950&item=3095935136&rd=1#ebayphotohosting

I don't want masses of power, just enough so I can turn the volume up nicely. I've currently got 90W speakers in the back of my car, and they seem to distort when I turn the volume up loud. Would this be because I need an amp, or the speakers themselves? I think the rating of my unit is 4x40 or 45W

Also whats the difference between the 4x120W rating and the RMS power rating?

Thanks

4x120 is the peak power that it can handle, it never achieves this sort of power output in normal situations.

the RMS is the power that it can run at for sustained periods without damage to the amp or speakers.

the amp seems alrite for what you want.

if it distorts when its loud it could be the speakers, but an amp would solve the situation as u can set various levels of gain and frequency to get them just right

Amp will work, I'm not familiar with the brand though. Don't get misleaded by high peak and multiplied 2 ohm watts. Only one rule: RMS 4 ohm un-bridged!!!
