I have already posted this on the main forum, then realised there is an ICE forum, so here goes, really, any help or advice on this would be appreciated.

Wife has a Mk2 punto with radio cassette. Managed to get a cd player (blaupunkt). Fits perfect but......

Handbook says display will show CANCHECK for a second then request code. Trouble is is doesn't get to asking for the code, it stays on CANCHECK.

Is this because there is no Body computer on her punto and there needs to be? If this is the case, is there any way around this?

The new player has never been fitted in a punto, it is brand new. Would it work if it was fitted with a punto with a body computer then transferred to our punto? ie. does it need initialising in some way. Any help would be appreciated.
