My Grande Punto 2008 1,2 gear box looked like this:

I thought that drive shaft seal was leaking but I was advised it probably was a gear shift seal leak. It actually was the case:

I ordered a new seal from eBay (30 €). Replacing an old seal was about three hours work and it were pretty simple job. Only tools needed were 10 mm spanner, 13 mm socket, two flat screw drivers, a punch, a hammer and sealant glue.

Take battery terminals off (10 mm spanner).

Remove battery (13 mm socket),

Remove the battery tray (13 mm socket):

Remove clutch slave cylinder (13 mm socket):

Open ground cable nut (13 mm socket) and remove reverse light switch connector:

Gear cables can be removed with one or two screwdrivers:

Gear shifter is attached with five screws (13 mm socket):

Remove lock pin with a punch:

Remove a seeger ring with a screw driver:

Remove old seal carefully with a screw driver and tap a new seal in place:

Assembly in reverse order. Use sealant when attaching gear shifter to gear box:

Renew gear oil.
