Hi,
I have organised a group buy with with Torque7 also known as GSR for Induction Kits for the following vehicles and engines:

Vehicles
  • Grande Punto
  • Grande Punto Abarth
  • Punto Evo
  • Bravo Mk2
  • Linea
  • AlfaRomeo Mito
Engines

  • T-jet 88 kW 120 bhp
  • T-jet 110 kW 150 bhp
  • T-jet 114 kW 155 bhp
  • Abarth T-jet 132 kW 180 bhp
  • Multiair 99kW 135 bhp
  • Multiair 125 kW 170 bhp
The kit is a plug and play type (except for Abarth models*) ready to be installed and includes: 1x Custom made GSR silicone hose, 1x pre oiled cotton gauze performance air filter, 1x PVC filter to hose connection insert, 7x different size hose clamps and 4x (or 3x for MultiAir) different size plastic breather pipe connectors. However, please note that the hose is made a bit longer at the filter end in order to fit different models. In most cases it needs to be shortened about 1-2 cm at the filter end. Please test fit the kit before final assembly.
*ABARTH - the 16mm breather pipe on Abarth models is metal and therefore isn't flexible, therefore for these models we supply a 90 degree elbow connector for easier breather connection.

So down to the important part, Price.
The normal cost of this induction kit is £203 + £10 postage to UK and other countries within the EU, £15 to any other countries world wide.

Discounts

The discounts are as follows:

T-jet engines
1 order 10% discount
2+ order 10% discount plus 2% for each order
a max of 30% off can be offered if 11 people order at the same time.

If we get 11 orders the price will be £142.10 + postage each, a huge saving of £60.90

Multiair engines
1 order 15% discount
2+ order 15% discount plus 2% for each order
a max of 35% discount offered if 11 people order at the same time.

If we get 11 orders the price will be £131.95 + postage each, a huge saving of £71.05

Colours available are:
  • RED
  • BLACK
  • BLUE will be available but not until September time but can still be ordered.
We can also combine orders of T-jet and multiair but only the multiair will get the extra 5%

Postage is normally a week for UK and EU, elsewhere normally 2 - 4 weeks.

This group buy is only valid for 2 weeks at the moment depending on how much response is had.

So if we make a list with names, vehicle and engines we can start the process and hopefully get some great savings for everyone.

Here are a few pictures of people's cars with these kits fitted:

I was looking at these a few days ago, do you think they are worth the money in terms of power gains?

I know a good filter would need to go on the end of it but the air box is already at the bottom of the bumper so would a k&n replacement filter not do the same job? I actually want one of these gsr kits but it's a lot of money if it doesn't do anything init

the replacement filter probably wont do the same job, but i wouldn't buy either, just change stock filter more often to make sure you are always getting maximum air intended.

Stock filters are made of cheap paper that restricts the air, a cotton or foam filter allow air to flow freely. Cheaper cone filters are just for show and people stick then at the top of the engine. K&n rolling road all theirs so I trust the facts from them

sounds like you already made your mind up before you asked the above questions, so not sure why you asked them  ive been at rolling roads where both k&n, piper x, bmc and gsr have been tested back to back, GSR beat them all. but i still say save your money and buy none.

The gsr induction puts the filter down just behind the front bumper where there is only cold air, the stock filter box sits in the engine bay where there is a big increase in temp from the engine, and we all know the colder the air the more power we create. It's a lot of money but if the temp is lower and enough people buy it I think the reduced price along with some sort of power gain it will be worth it. Don't forget these are normally £203 + postage

How do you work that out then mate? What's the point of an intercooler if not to cool the charged air down? The colder the air the more dense it becomes the more power you make.

Air Temperature

The biggest advantage a cold-air intake has over a short-ram intake is that it allows the motor to pull in colder air from a location away from the heat of the engine. The temperature of the air under the hood rises due to residual heat from the radiator and cooling system. A cold air intake avoids this by using air from another location, such as the spaces around the wheel wells or inside the front bumper. This increases the power potential of the intake charge. The reason is simple: cold air is denser than heated air.

What you are pointing to is are the cones better than stock air filters which proves they aint that much better if anything not the differences in air Temperatures And locations Of The Filter.

Were not talking about fitting inter coolers though. The air intake temp from an OEM setup vs one of these induction kits will be very little in difference.

Fit and inter cooler and you might stand a chance of it being worthwhile.

i know we aint talking about intercoolers, i was comparing the fact that colder intake temps equals more power to which you said "what cobblers" so thats why i said what i did, if your problem is that you dont think the position of the filter will make much difference then say that.

When i get my car on the road i will conduct a few tests with the standard air box and the gsr induction kit and will live record the figures just to see if it does make a difference, and if so how much and then will post them on here.

If someone else wants to do the tests then please feel free to do so as it could take me a week to do my car or it could take me a month.

colder air = Increased air density = more air molecules means more energy released in each combustion cycle, its science not cobblers, but that isnt the only reason a gsr kit gives more power, if it was you could move the filter to a colder place just with a fivers worth of plumbing from b&q
