Re: Group Buy For T-jet and Multiair GSR Induction Kit

How do you work that out then mate? What's the point of an intercooler if not to cool the charged air down? The colder the air the more dense it becomes the more power you make.

Air Temperature

The biggest advantage a cold-air intake has over a short-ram intake is that it allows the motor to pull in colder air from a location away from the heat of the engine. The temperature of the air under the hood rises due to residual heat from the radiator and cooling system. A cold air intake avoids this by using air from another location, such as the spaces around the wheel wells or inside the front bumper. This increases the power potential of the intake charge. The reason is simple: cold air is denser than heated air.

What you are pointing to is are the cones better than stock air filters which proves they aint that much better if anything not the differences in air Temperatures And locations Of The Filter.

Were not talking about fitting inter coolers though. The air intake temp from an OEM setup vs one of these induction kits will be very little in difference.

Fit and inter cooler and you might stand a chance of it being worthwhile.

Re: Group Buy For T-jet and Multiair GSR Induction Kit

i know we aint talking about intercoolers, i was comparing the fact that colder intake temps equals more power to which you said "what cobblers" so thats why i said what i did, if your problem is that you dont think the position of the filter will make much difference then say that.

When i get my car on the road i will conduct a few tests with the standard air box and the gsr induction kit and will live record the figures just to see if it does make a difference, and if so how much and then will post them on here.

If someone else wants to do the tests then please feel free to do so as it could take me a week to do my car or it could take me a month.

Re: Group Buy For T-jet and Multiair GSR Induction Kit

colder air = Increased air density = more air molecules means more energy released in each combustion cycle, its science not cobblers, but that isnt the only reason a gsr kit gives more power, if it was you could move the filter to a colder place just with a fivers worth of plumbing from b&q

It's a lot of money but if the temp is lower and enough people buy it I think the reduced price along with some sort of power gain it will be worth it. Don't forget these are normally £203 + postage
The air box on a bravo is in the wheel arch behind the bumper anyway. That's why I'm wondering if this kit will make much difference over a k&n replacement . Be interesting to see the results of your tests as I do want this kit if it makes a difference 😀
