hi chaps. as i have installed one of these into my car i can give you any insights you want. first of all i've changed 3 units in order to find the one version that does everything well. the older unit had a terrible screen (crappy touch response) . every day i callibrated it in order to work as reliable as possible. ( 4 dots to callibrate). all worked fine , good sound quality but after about 20 minutes it rebooted itself without any notice. didn't mind at first but using multiecuscan i figured what was wrong with it. no can-bus connection.multiecuscan refused to connect to the car when the unit was installed and was able to connect when the unit was removed. thus those wierd "bsod" was the result of faulty can-bus connection.i returned the unit and i was provided with a replacement , an improved version (only in software). this was absolutely brilliant. it even had a small box for correct can-bus connection. but no sound at all. it "propably" didn't have the codecs installed . the unit of the first post is the unit i have right now and i am satisfied. it has been working flawlessly for about 3 months now. do get the external microphone though because the built in one is useless.

Any chance of a little video of it up and running fella ?

That is excellent insight, thanks gdriver. I was planning to obtain a sample to play with in order to vet the unit before getting the guys to commit their funds, but it looks like you are giving us all the info we need (y)

How did you find the ISO plugs in the back of the new unit, is it plug and play with ISO plugs built into the GP loom? Also are you running SatNav and if yes, which maps are you using and how do you find the performance and accuracy of the satnav function?

As fatherjack mentioned, it would be great if you can make a video for us with sound to get a feel for the unit in question :worship:

@ stanyer, if/when I get a response from the supplier I will ask about the Evo unit as well, but bear in mind that the Chinese generally wont supply a 1 off, we would have to get 10 people wanting the Evo unit as a minimum to make it happen, manufacturers are odd like that and wont entertain the end user, they want to ship in bulk and that's it.

i don't know how to upload in youtube but i can post pictures. please tell me the gallery function or i could via imageshack. but i know that some people get annoyed for posting via imageshack.
all the rear cables are pretty simple to connect. you can't go wrong. the only thing that was a little difficult was the rear view camera connection because of the faulty labelling and the jack itself. it had a rear jack that was labelled ''rear camera'' and another one that was labelled as ''pict in''. as it was logicall i connected the rear view camera to the ''rear camera'' but no picture. i installed it to the picture in and that was it. it automatically shows when in reverse gear. but you cannot de-activate it if you want. also another ''fault'' when comparing to the older version, is the usb. they are ''permanent'' sockets intergrated to the rear back and you cannot remove them like you could do in the first unit i had.in the first unit you could easilly change the usb cable and put one with a front fascia and look like stock, but now you can't.also note that you can use only up to 16gb sd and 16gb usb.no more than that. as for maps i use igo because i like the woman's voice pointing to the right direction

Any update of a price of this???

No not yet :( However it is Chinese new year in the first/second month of the calendar year and from previous experience you don't get much response back from them during that time.

I will give them another week then try to chase through a different channel.

I'm thinking the same. There are twelve of us now. How many people do we need before we get a quote?

@ James, please be patient, I have approached and sent enquiries with a couple of suppliers dealing with the manufacturer direct, thus far I have not received a reply and there is no guarantee that we will.

You are of course, welcome to do the research yourself and find a supplier who will be willing to quote without wanting to charge 400Euro each. ;)

Can we have a number count on this, and possibly clean up the layout of people interested.

Congrats Alx, you have just nominated yourself, good lad :D

The biggest issue I see is trying to identify HOW MANY colour differences were offered by Fiat, people seem to call them various different things?!?!?

haha no worries, sorry if I sounded like I was having a moan, wasn't the intention :p

Was just wondering if there was a supplier you had in mind who had specified a minimum number of orders needed before getting a price
