Grande Punto Red dot remap

I had my 1.3mjet (75) mapped by Tony at tune4performance 8000 miles ago and am pleased with the results. Smokes a bit under full load but that's price of more fuel & boost and around 20 extra bhp. Engine picks up lower down the rev range and is much nicer to drive as a result.

ProAlfa is next door to him as well.

why using red dot pads and not green stuff?

Sorry couldn't resist. Daves right though, the development that EBC have been putting into their compounds recently far outweighs whatever it is that Red Dot have (Though I'd suspect they are rebranding a known manufacturer or cheap import????)

Greenstuff up to v6 I didn't feel confident with after seeing my pads literally disintegrate but v7 seems to have solved that nicely.

I know a chap interested in having his Mjet 1.9 GP mapped soon too so if there is a group buy/FF remap day organised I think it will as ever prove popular.

i think i'm going for the MJ sporting i mentioned in my other thread, very keen to get it remapped ASAP lol!

some places are only quoting a 30bhp so 160bhp yet i've seen on some sigs on here that some members are getting 190bhp+

i thought they were all generic maps that were just loaded on, i DIY remapped my dads car with a map i got off a member on an MG forum and it done 173.4BHP on the RR when i think standard it's 130bhp.

any advice on finding a good one? as mentioned they all have the numbers and sales talk but which ones are actually worth it? if the turbo and clutch don't last quite as long as a smaller gain remap that's a price worth paying to me :D there's a lad at work with a 1.8 petrol astra that is convinced the MJET sporting even remapped wont touch his 125BHP beast.:bang:

It will destroy it!!

My 1.9 8v GP ended up somewhere in the region of 170-190 bhp depending on the rollers used.

why using red dot pads and not green stuff?

Well I got the red dot pads for £1 off of ebay in 2009 and after 30k they have done me proud so I don't see a reason to change them at all.

But I spoke to Red Dot this morning and they don't even sell brakes any more so I'll have to buy others.

Paying £50 for Green Stuff makes me want to cry.
