How do I do this on a 1.4 16v please?? Really grateful for step by step instructions. Thanks very much in advance!

Well tbh fella , , ,why?

Its the same as any other car in regards to changing the oil filter. Prob better off looking at a Haynes Manual for a rough idea on how to do the deed.

However as im feeling nice heres a quick rundown.

Run the engine and get the engine up to temp (Or there abouts) this is to allow the oil to drain from the engine freely. If the oils cold you aint gonna get a proper drain.

So, you then need to remove the oil sump plug on the bottom of then engine. Just incase your not quite with me. Make sure you slam a tub or oil catchment tray under otherwise your gonna be mopping up some oil spillage!

When the oil is drained you can then remove the oil filter. Now you can go buy ya self an oil filter remal chain/belt or you can just slam a screwdriver straight through the bugga and use that as leverage to turn.(Dont recommend this but works never the less). Make sure you have tray under the filter to catch the remaining oil from inside the filter itself.

Now then, fit the sump plug back in place. Grab your new oil filter and rub some clean fresh oil around the rubber seals. Screw this by hand back on to the engine block. ***Note do not use any tools to tighten this back in place, hand tight is all you need***

Now just fill the oil back into the engine. You should have a rough idea on how much to put in from the amount now swimming around on the drive. Fill and check with the dipstick. When upto the level start the car(10 Seconds or so). This will then force the new oil round the engine and fill your filter with oil. Check the oil level again, top up and leave to settle. Double check, later on and your away.

that ul do it old bean.
